FOR a variety of reasons I am very overdue with this thank you.
I want to thank the Advertiser, plus all businesses, who took part in the Christmas competition.
Thank you also all who entered. I was very lucky to win the $700 worth of vouchers, a few of which we have already used. They have been wonderful so far.
I would also like to congratulate Dr Graeme Bertuch on his wonderful Australia Day honour. It is well deserved as this doctor has worked so hard for so hard for the community.

Business associations in Stawell and Ararat expect 2016 to be a year of growth as industries expand and major projects bring investment to the areas.
However consecutive poor harvests have caused a trade downturn in some areas and hurt business confidence.
Ararat Regional Business Association president Graeme Foster said 2015 was a positive year overall for businesses, with some challenges along the way.
“The conditions we’ve had have made it hard for farming communities and that affects all business, particularly retail,” he said.
“The recent Grampians Pyrenees Business Awards in Ararat showcased the outstanding offerings we have in all sectors across the region.
“We have a pretty optimistic outlook for our area.
“We have the development of the wind farm here, and the prison is coming up to completion and new staff will be on board there.
“The manufacturing industry is expanding their offerings. Gason and AME Systems are large employers for our town and progressive with how they do business.
“We have had good support from our council in the past year and it’s important that is maintained.
“It is important businesses take a collaborative approach and focus on customer service as well as products.”
Welcome to a fantastic and enjoyable new year (2016), and well done to Kings Cars a member of ARBA, for the Christmas Tree Promotion for the Children in the local area.
Thank you to all those who participated.
A job well done.
The 2015 Grampians Pyrenees Business Awards this year hosted by the Ararat Rural City Council was a night of recognition and an opportunity to celebrate achievements for not only category winners but for all who entered the awards.
The event enables business owners, managers and staff to review, analyse and reflect on their procedures and structures and also provides them inspiration in moving forward with their operations.
The awards night showcased what a high standard and diverse range of businesses operate within our region.
People spoke with real passion about their businesses and for the region in which they live.
Staff were recognised as the most important element of any business which is all so true.
Congratulation to all of the category winners, a special mention to the Kookaburra Hotel on taking out the Business of the Year Award, a wonderful achievement for an iconic regional business.
The past year has seen many exciting developments within our region come to fruition, the partnerships formed with neighbouring business associations, the Ararat Rural City`s ongoing support of ARBA, along with their positive relationships formed with our bordering shires shows what can be achieved with a collaborative approach.
ARBA looks forward to contributing to our economic development and welcomes input from all business sectors, including our agricultural and manufacturing sectors in helping to achieve our goals.
On behalf of ARBA I would like to thank all who have supported and contributed to the well-being of our community and wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas with family and friends.
